Eucharist

The Holy Eucharist is the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation participate with the whole community in the Lord's own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist. - CCC 1322.

Sacramental Preparation at CTK

Whether through RCIA, RCIC, or Religious Education for grades K-5, Christ the King Parish offers something for everyone depending on their circumstances. Please contact the parish office to make an appointment with Monsignor Frost to discuss your situation.

A Christian receives the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation prior to receiving the Holy Eucharist.

The Sacrament of the Eucharist

"At the Last Supper, on the night he was betrayed, our Savior instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of his Body and Blood. This he did in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross throughout the ages until he should come again, and so to entrust to his beloved Spouse, the Church, a memorial of his death and resurrection: a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a Paschal banquet ‘in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us.'" - CCC 1323

Eucharistic Worship

"It is pleasant to spend time with him, to lie close to his breast like the Beloved Disciple (Jn 13:25) and to feel the infinite love present in his heart...This practice, repeatedly praised and recommended by the Magisterium, is supported by the example of many saints. Particularly outstanding in this regard was Saint Alphonsus Liguori, who wrote: "Of all devotions, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest after the sacraments, the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us."" - Excerpt from Ecclesia de Eucharistia (Encyclical Letter by Pope John Paul II)
